Management board of the CSR|Berlin
Prof. Dr. Sebastian Hasenstab-Riedel (FUB)
is Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB), founding director of CSR|Berlin and responsible for the further development of chlorine technology.
Prof. Dr. Rainer Haag (FUB)
is Professor for Organic und Macromolecular Chemistry at the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB) and is investigating the application of ionic liquids for the production of basic chemicals/polymer networks from biomass.
Prof. Dr. Timm John (FUB)
is Professor for Mineralogy and Petrology at the Freie Universität Berlin and researches the interaction of reactive liquids with solids, which includes processes for the recovery and circular use of high-tech metals from old electrical devices in the context of urban mining and the environmental friendly extraction of ores in mine tailings.
Prof. Dr. Anna Gorbushina (BAM/FUB)
is head of the department Material and Environment at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM) and Professor at the Institute for Geological Sciences at the Freie Universität Berlin. She researches and teaches in the field of geomicrobiology at the Institute of Geological Sciences and the Institute of Biology at the FUB. Her work focuses on black microcolonial fungi, which are increasingly colonizing man-made habitats such as polluted soils, building facades and solar installations, thereby altering surfaces. These stress-tolerant fungi, originally discovered in extreme environments such as Antarctic dry valleys and hot deserts, contribute to rock weathering and material cycling. Their integration into intelligent building materials is being investigated.
Prof. Dr. Carsten Dreher (FUB)
is Professor for Innovation Management at the Freie Universität Berlin and conducts research on corporate innovation behavior, strategic technology management and innovation policy.
